When Your Cheap Holidays Are Not Cheap at All
You can do your comparison shopping online and get cheap holidays to almost any popular destination in the world, but for some people, their cheap holiday ends up costing them more than they planned. The Internet is great for doing comparison shopping for hotel and flights but it can be used for so many more money saving ideas for your holiday.
First, make sure you use your favorite mapping website to look at the location of your hotel compared to the attractions you want to visit. If one four star hotel is much cheaper than another and the pictures of both look equally pleasing, map them out before booking the cheap hotel. Your cheap holidays won’t be so cheap if the hotel you chose was billed as close to the beach, and you end up having to take a taxi there every day because you can’t cross the major highway in front of your hotel on foot to get there.
Also look at maps to see if close-by attractions really are “close”. If you have to pay extra for transportation, your savings on the cheaper hotel would be eaten up by taxi fees. Likewise, if you plan to hire a car on your cheap holidays, check the hotel’s parking rates. The smart comparison shopper knows that the cheapest price isn’t always going to end up being the best deal.
